How to write a project manager resume
Open each role with scope
One line of budget, team size and project count before the bullets tells the reader what level you work at.
Put certifications near the top
PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM or a Scrum certification are often screened for. Include the credential in your headline or summary if the posting asks for it.
Show a recovered project, not only smooth ones
Every project manager says “on time and on budget”. A bullet about rescuing a slipping project is more memorable and more believable.
Use the industry’s vocabulary
IT, construction, healthcare and marketing projects each have their own terms (sprints, RFIs, go-live, change orders). Match the posting.
