Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of NovaCV at novacv.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service

NovaCV is an AI-assisted resume tool. You can analyze a CV, rewrite it for a target role, design it with templates, download it, share it by link, email it to recruiters and track your job applications. We may improve, change or discontinue features over time.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use NovaCV.
  • Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password secure.
  • You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • One free trial per person. Creating multiple accounts to get extra trials isn’t allowed.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial. It includes one AI-powered resume, unlimited editing, every template and watermarked PDF previews. No payment details are needed, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends.

4. Plans, credits and payments

  • Single Resume and Job Hunt Pack are one-time purchases. They add export and AI credits to your account. Credits don’t expire.
  • Pro gives unlimited downloads and sends, plus a monthly allowance of AI generations. Outside the Philippines, it’s a monthly PayPal subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. In the Philippines, it’s a prepaid 30-day pass through PayMongo that doesn’t renew automatically.
  • You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Prices are shown before you pay, in USD or PHP depending on your location, and may include taxes that apply where you live.
  • We may change prices in the future. Changes never affect credits you’ve already bought.

5. Refunds

If NovaCV didn’t work for you, email support@novacv.app within 7 days of your purchase. We’ll refund one-time purchases whose credits haven’t been used, and the first charge of a new Pro subscription.

Beyond that, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under local law.

6. Your content

You own your resumes and everything you upload or write. You give us permission to store, process and display your content only as needed to run NovaCV for you. This includes sending it to our AI provider to generate results, and showing it to people you share it with. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for routine backups that expire on their own.

7. AI output

NovaCV rewrites what’s in your resume and is designed not to invent experience. Where it needs a number only you know, it leaves a placeholder such as [X%]. But AI can still make mistakes. You’re responsible for:

  • checking that everything in your resume is accurate before you send it
  • filling in or removing any placeholders
  • not misrepresenting your experience to employers

We don’t guarantee interviews, job offers or any particular result.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use NovaCV to create false or fraudulent credentials, or to impersonate someone else
  • upload other people’s personal data without their permission
  • send spam, or use the email feature for anything other than job applications
  • try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around usage limits
  • resell or redistribute the service without our written permission
  • use NovaCV for anything illegal

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

9. Our intellectual property

The NovaCV name, logo, website, templates and software belong to us. You can use the templates for your own resumes, including resumes for clients if you’re a career coach on Pro. You can’t copy them to build a competing product.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using NovaCV at any time. To delete your account and data, email support@novacv.app. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these terms. If we discontinue NovaCV entirely, we’ll give reasonable notice so you can download your resumes.

11. Disclaimers and liability

NovaCV is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost job opportunities or lost income. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as NovaCV evolves. If a change is significant, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email. If you keep using NovaCV after a change, you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. This doesn’t take away any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
