How to write a data analyst resume
Finish every bullet with the business result
“Built a dashboard” is a task. “Built a dashboard that cut stockouts by 15%” is an outcome. If you don’t know the result, ask the stakeholder who used it.
Say what size data you worked with
Row counts, number of sources and refresh frequency tell a reader whether you’ve handled their scale.
Name the warehouse and BI tool
Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Tableau and Power BI are often hard filters. List the ones you’ve used in production, not only in a course.
Early-career? Add a portfolio project with public data
One well-written analysis on GitHub or a blog, with a clear question and a recommendation, shows the whole workflow better than a list of courses.
