What Executive does well
Signals seniority
Serif type and a centered header are the conventions of senior resumes. It looks at home in a partner’s inbox.
Room for scope
Generous line spacing leaves room for the numbers that matter at this level: budgets, headcount, revenue and markets.
Conservative in the right way
No graphics, no columns. Nothing a recruiter at a traditional firm will read as a gimmick.
- Directors and VPs
- C-suite
- Finance and banking
- Law
- Consulting partners
Is Executive ATS-friendly?
One column in a standard reading order, with conventional section names and real selectable text. Applicant tracking systems parse it the way you read it.
Tips for writing in Executive
- Lead each role with one line of scope (team size, budget, remit) before the achievement bullets.
- Two pages is normal at this level. Keep roles older than 15 years to a line or two.
- Open the summary with your title and domain, e.g. “CFO with 18 years in regulated fintech”.
Before you send it, run it through the ATS resume checker, and tailor it to the job description you’re applying for.
